First Annual Daughters
of the Goddess Gathering
Thursday June 1, 2000 at 7:30 pm - Sunday June 4, 2000 at 3:00 pm
Camp Ronora Nature
Preserve & Retreat Center, Michigan
For over one lunar
year cycle we have gathered with the intent of remembering,
awakening, exploring and honoring the sacred mysteries
of the divine feminine. Together we have shard, witnessed, sang, cried, and cheered in support
of each other's journey to reclaim our souls and
our wholeness. The most amazing miracle of our circles
has been the presence of the most healing elixir
in the universe: love. Through the purity of our
hearts' intent and the power of our prayers, this
sacred hoop has found a den deep in Pachamama's belly
where we have been held sweetly and grown strong.
On June 1st we will once again gather
to celebrate and honor the creation of a collective
dream. As we weave our circles into one powerful
community, we will move into the timeless realms
of possibility linking up with ancient medicine ways
for healing and growth. Through journeys, ceremonies,
ritual, movement and play it is our hope to restore
and expand our bodies, hearts and souls in ways that
will enable us to begin the next level of our individual
work and collective vision.
We have the extraordinary
privilege of having Luzclara as guest faculty for
our weekend. Luzclara is a Chilean healer and
medicine woman, grandmother, ceremonial leader and
ritual dancer, who dedicates her life to the healing
of Mother Earth and her beings. She has been working
for the last 15 years in awakening the sacred feminine
energies in the planet using ancient methods, ritual
and magic. She has learned from various indigenous
traditions and is one of a select few mestizo women
to be initiated into the Mapuche shamanic traditions
(of Southern Chile). For the last six years she has
been uniting indigenous traditions of the Americas
and leading workshops and ceremonies in both hemispheres.
Additionally, she has lived in the United States
and has a deep love and understanding of the struggles
unique to the contemporary urban woman. It is with
this wisdom, joy and power that enables her to create
a bridge for us to feel our connection and sameness
to all earth honoring people.
Another medicine woman
who will be gracing us with her wisdom and laughter
is D.J. Leggit, director of Camp Ronora. D.J., a daughter of mixed European and Shawnee ancestry, has learned
ceremonial ways from many elders over the years,
and teaches the integration of ceremony into our
daily lives. She has agreed to pour a sweat lodge
dedicated to the life cycle of the woman. She also
allows us the privilege and gift of her give away
and dream: the opportunity to experience the beautiful
Camp Ronora.
Susan Lipshutz is a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an active private
practice for over seventeen years in the Chicago
area. She has pursued advanced
training in hypnosis, creative visualization, cross
cultural shamanic traditions, and nature based spiritual
practice. She is devoted to assisting individuals
in healing soul wounds, awakening hearts to self-love
and acceptance, and bringing the mind/body/spirit
systems into balance and harmony with nature, spirit
and community.
