Profile - Machu Picchu "the Goddess Gathering"

During the week of April 25, 1999 in the mountain of the Andes, a group of women will celebrate the Goddess - the embodiment of the Spiritual Feminine. The call is being sent to women of all traditions to join in re-awakening the feminine Goddess energy of our planet, honoring the maiden, the mother, the wise woman/elder, the healer, the medicine woman, the sacred food that sustains us, and the sacred divinity of the Earth Mother, Pachamama.

An opening ceremony will weave our light bodies into a harmonic whole, a full moon Wesak Ceremony will both expand and anchor this light, and the closing ceremony will focus a final and ongoing weaving of our connectedness to each other and the earth, assisting us in returning home with blessed gifts to share with our loved ones. We'll integrate these changes into the fabric of our lives seeded with new growth.

You are asked to seek within your heart for ways which you might contribute to the ceremonies, for this is a collective, interactive gathering. Begin in your own home by celebrating the rituals honoring the earth, the full and new moons, and all the sacred ways which are sustained by the earth mother. all participants are urged to wear ceremonial dress for rituals and to bring a favorite drum, rattle, or music maker.

The high vibrational energy existing in this sacred site will be enhanced by this great sharing of love and compassion. We ask that participants be prepared to remain in emotional, physical, energetic and spiritual focus with clear, and heart-felt intent. Beginning, renewing or sustaining daily pratices of meditation, yoga, tai chi, reiki or other methods of mindfulness will be helpful.

We recommend that participants be prepared ina variety of ways for changes in climate, food, and the rigors of high altitude. Every participant is encouraged to spend a few hours during the week utilizing "her own special, divine gifts" in a form of "tithing" as her offering of nurturing/abundance given freely for the highest purpose of the whole.

It is the sincere desire of the organizers of the Gathering that every woman who feels called to be part of this celebration be able to do so. In this respect, program and travel costs are being kept to a minimum with a variety of options for everyone.
